Cycling trekking holiday in Southern Sardinia. Blue Mines: Sardinia Bike & Trekking Tour | Real Sardinia Holiday
We (my wife Nicola and I) first visited Southern Sardinia over a decade ago – we fell in love with it, the history, the food, the people, the landscape, the quiet un- spoilt beaches and we keep coming back every year.
I love my wife dearly but she is not interested in riding bikes, she is happy to spend the day lounging at the beach or by the pool reading– spending all day at the beach on holidays would drive me crazy so we came up with a compromise – the mornings we go exploring and the afternoons we spend relaxing. That is how blue mines cycling holidays was born – we wanted to share this very special part of the Med with like- minded people!
Our goal is to give you a unique experience; we have planned a cycling holiday in one of the most beautiful places in places in the Mediterranean Sea.
Our Cycle Trekking holiday is the perfect vacation; it is a mixture of activity, sightseeing and relaxation in a little known, un spoilt area of the stunning Island of Sardinia
Blue Mines Cycle Trekking holiday’s are for small groups of 4-8 people – come as a group or just by your self and join our friendly holidaymakers. You will be staying in a restored mining cottage, on a park that is set in between the world famous sand dunes of Piscinas and abandoned mines. Each morning after breakfast on the terrace we will ride to different parts of this stunning part of the island to visiting abandoned mines, museums, waterfalls and caves.
We provide full board and all entrance fees to museums and sites, as well as all the cycling trekking equipment, sun loungers, parasols and beach towels. Please note you will need to bring your own walking shoes or hiking boots?
This holiday is suitable for those wanting to get to know the real Sardinia that we love. Your base is in a remote tranquil location so not suitable for those seeking a lively night life as there are no bars or nightclubs.
All of our cycling excursions will be led by the local guides who will give us exclusive access to a number of marked and unmarked paths previously used by local miners
